Lion Brand Cover Story Yarn Review

When I was on maternity leave, I would occasionally go to Joann or Michaels and walk around when my husband was home just to get out of the house for a little bit. On one of these trips, there was a discount on yarn at Joann. Because of the discount, I decided to pick up a cake of Lion Brand Cover Story yarn. I have seen this yarn several times in the past and thought it might be a good yarn to try while I was on leave.

Dinosaur Crochet Pattern – A ChatGPT Experiment

It seems everyone is talking about ChatGPT these days. My husband wanted to see if it could make a crochet pattern. I had very low expectations that it work, but thought it would be a fun experiment!

Learn Something New in 2023 – Obligatory New Years Resolution Post

So I am going to write that stereotypical blog post this year trying to encourage everyone to be the best version of themselves this year. However, my post is going to be a little different. I’m not going to tell you my foolproof method of sticking to your new year’s resolutions (because I for one do not know the secret!). I’m also not going to tell you what to do because to be honest, I find those types of posts annoying. What I am going to do is to encourage you to make 2023 the year you learn how to do something new!

50 State Blanket Part 11 – Virginia to Wyoming and Assembly

So I have been a little slacking recently, but today I took a vacation day from my 9 to 5 job and decided that I would get caught up on some CraftEaze projects. This is the final post for the 50 state blanket. This blanket was really my most ambitious project ever. I had to develop patterns for all 50 states (really 49 patterns since Colorado and Wyoming are the same pattern). This post goes over the states of Virginia to Wyoming. In my opinion, this is one of the most unique shaped grouping of states in the entire blanket.

50 State Blanket Part 10 – South Dakota to Vermont

So my husband and I went on vacation recently, and since getting back I have been a little lazy. However, it is time to get back to the 50-state blanket, especially since there are only 10 states left. This post contains the patterns for the states of South Dakota to Vermont. I really like how the state of Texas turned out. I am always a little nervous when it comes to the larger states (like Texas, Alaska, New York, and Florida) that have a very distinct shape because they are so recognizable. But in my opinion, Texas looks just like how the state looks on the map.

50 State Blanket Part 9 – Oklahoma to South Carolina

This is part 9 of the 50 state blanket. Part 9 consists of the states of Oklahoma to South Carolina. I was surprised at how well Rhode Island turned out. One thing I like about these patterns is how much detail there is for even the smallest states. Since each block is the same size, each state is well represented.

50 State Blanket Part 8 – New Mexico To Ohio

This is part 8 of the 50 state blanket. Part 8 consists of the states of New Mexico to Ohio. So my husband and I are trying to get caught up on the latest season of Better Call Saul which is only fitting since this post contains New Mexico. My husband also attended the University of Cincinnati so he thought it was fitting to make the state of Ohio using black and red.

50 State Blanket Part 7 – Montana to New Jersey

This is part 7 of the 50 state blanket. Part 7 consists of the states of Montana to New Jersey. The group contained some of the bigger states widthwise. Montana and Nebraska both went almost all the way across the block!

8 Baby Blankets That are Perfect Shower Gifts

So I am at the point of my life where it seems like everyone I know is having a baby. This is a great thing because my favorite thing to make is baby blankets! Baby blankets have always been one of my favorite projects. I love how they typically have a pattern that repeats, but they are also fairly quick projects because they aren’t as big as an afghan or throw. I also love that I can typically use a lot of bright and fun colors!

50 State Blanket Part 6 – Massachusetts to Missouri

This part contains the states of Massachusetts to Missouri. It is so hard to believe that after this post we will be halfway through the 50 states. I was very excited for the particular part because I am from Missouri and I have made a couple of Missouri throw pillows for myself and for silent auction items for my mom. I am also pleasantly surprised how will Massachusetts turned out because it is such an unique shaped state.
