I have been spending a lot of time at home with my husband. One thing I have noticed is I’m spending a lot more time doing crafts and puzzles and also I am drinking a lot of wine. So I thought it would be fun to make a list of my favorite things for crafts and wine.
I am taking inspiration from Oprah. Every year she would have an episode of…
It’s that time of year again where everyone is getting ready for Christmas. It’s so easy to get overwhelmed by finding gifts for your friends and family members, decorating your house, and planning holiday parties. But it is so important to find a way to remember to do something for yourself during this busy time. One way that you can do this is by having an Advent calendar. My personal favorite as an adult is a wine Advent calendar.

We are approaching the end of the CraftEaze Wine Advent Calendar. It has been a fun couple of weeks, but its finally time to finish the Advent calendar. Today, I will go over the wines for December 18-24. Below are the links for the first 17 wines, just in case you missed them. This week we will have a couple of sparkling wines highlighted since Christmas is so close!
These wines would be perfect to drink while watching the Hallmark Channel or Netflix. Here is the official Hallmark Channel Christmas movie line-up. These wines would also be perfect to drink while you work on some last minute Christmas gifts. A perfect quick gift idea that you can make for a friend or family member would be these boot cuffs or this laptop sleeve.
December 18 – Peaks & Tides Cabernet Sauvignon
This is a red wine that can be picked up at Aldi. So with that said it is fairly inexpensive, but also tasty. This is a dry wine that would be perfect to serve with beef, lamb, or poultry. You can smell blueberries and currents with a hint of caramel and cherries.
December 19 – Arosa Sparkling Moscato Rosé
Christmas is only 6 days away! Since it is less than a week away, I felt it is only appropriate to highlight a sparkling wine. This is a sweet sparkling rosé that can be bought at Aldi. The Sparkling Moscato Rosé has a nice strawberry flavor and would be perfect to enjoy while watching The Santa Clause.
December 20 – Villanella Pinot Grigio
This white wine would be great to serve with a nice seafood or pasta dinner. It has a peach and apple flavor that is refreshing. The pinot grigio can be bought at Aldi. This would be perfect to drink as you watch Christmas with the Kranks and try to come up with a way to free Frosty.
December 21 – Winking Owl White Zinfandel
Today is the first day of winter and also it happens to be Friday! This is one of the best Fridays of the year because for many people it is the start of Christmas vacation or an extremely long weekend. To celebrate the start to this long weekend, have a glass of this white zinfandel. This white zinfandel is sweet and has a cranberry flavor that could be enjoyed with a salad or an Asian dinner. You can find this wine at Aldi.
December 22 -Dancing Flame Red Blend
This red wine is from Chile. It tastes like blackberry and cherry and has a slight hint of spice. This wine would be perfect to drink with a steak dinner or pasta.
December 23 -Moiselle Moscato
This is one of my favorite Aldi wine. It is sweet and easy to drink. I love to drink this while working on a craft project. I think it has a peach and honey flavor. This wine also pairs well with Mexican food or dessert.
December 24 -Grandi Mori Valdobbiadene Prosecco
Today is Christmas Eve! Hopefully, you have all of your gifts wrapped and under the tree. To celebrate the end of Advent, have a glass of this prosecco. This wine is dry but is very easy to drink. It smells of honeysuckles and pear. Go ahead and buy two bottles of this wine, because you can use one bottle for mimosa to severe tomorrow at your Christmas morning brunch.

This is part 3 of our special wine Advent calendar. Since I was unable to pick up an Advent wine calendar at Aldi this year, I decided to make my own wine Advent calendar. For part 3, we will go over the wines from December 11 to December 17. If you would like to get caught up, you can read the following posts:
This is a few days late because Thanksgiving was super crazy. But on a side note, I was able to say yes to my wedding dress and finished a portion of the save the dates because my mom was in town!! Since the third week of Advent is the pink candle on the Advent wreath, this week will feature 3 rosé wines, 2 white wines, and 2 red wines.
December 11 – Prophecy Rosé
The Prophecy Rosé was the subject of an in-depth wine review earlier this year. This rose is perfect for Saturday morning brunch or to drink while watching a Hallmark Christmas movie!
December 12 – Crystal Creek Cellars Chardonnay
This chardonnay can be found at Aldi. This Chardonnay is from Washington state. It smells like granny smith apples and has notes of pear, oak, and vanilla. This wine would pair well with a chicken dinner.
December 13 – Ruzzare Lambrusco
This red wine is slightly carbonated and is a sweeter wine. This wine has a strawberry and cherry flavor. It would be perfect with a pasta meal, but it is easy enough to drink alone while watching a Hallmark movie. You can find this wine at Aldi.
December 14 – Bridge Road Vineyards White Zinfandel
This is another rosé that can be bought at Aldi. This White Zinfandel is from California. It is sold in 1.5-liter bottles, so its a pretty good deal. It is a sweeter wine that has a strawberry flavor. This wine would be a good table wine for a Christmas celebration dinner with your friends.
December 15 – Landshut Riesling
This is a Riesling from Germany. It smells like honeysuckles and apples. The wine tastes like peach and apples (similar to other Rieslings). This wine would be perfect to serve with a fish dinner. You can find this Riesling at Aldi.
December 16 – Scarlet Path Lodi Zinfandel
This red wine is from California. It has notes of blueberry, black pepper, cherry, and licorice. This Zinfandel has a fruity taste that finishes slightly smokey. It would be perfect with a grilled steak. You can find this wine at Aldi.
December 17 – La Rue Côtes de Provence Rosé
This rosé is from France, but you can find it at Aldi. This wine is a dry wine, but it tastes like strawberries. It would be refreshing to drink after a hard day work while watching another Hallmark Christmas movie.
What is your favorite Aldi wine? Have we covered it yet??

So last week we announced our special wine Advent calendar. With the announcement, we included Part 1 of our wine advent calendar. Today we will go over the wines that are perfect for the December 4 – 10. If you are interested in learning what wines were chosen for December 1-3 visit: Advent Wine Calendar Disappointment.
This week we will focus on 4 white wines and 3 red wines. Once again the wines listed can be found at Aldi, Walmart, or your local grocery store. By focusing on these locations we can find affordable wines for almost every budget.
December 4 – Chateau Ste Michelle Reisling
Today’s wine is one of my favorites! The Chateau Ste. Michelle Reisling is my go-to wine to serve with a nice dinner. It is a Washington Reisling and has a nice peach and pear taste. I wrote an in-depth wine review on this wine earlier this year. You can read it here.
December 5 – Outlander Cabernet Sauvignon
This red wine can be found at Aldi. It has a flavor that can be described as a berry or cherry with a hint of vanilla. There is a smokey finish with this wine. This wine would pair well with a steak or turkey pot pie.
December 6 – Flirty Bird Sauvignon Blanc
This wine has a flavor that can be categorized as melon, citrus, and even green apple. It is perfect to drink with dinner particular a poultry dish or seafood. If you are trying to be healthy, you can even pair this wine with a salad.
December 7 – California Roots Moscato
This wine can only be bought at Target. I love shopping at Target because they have really cute home decor items and I love their bath towels! The bath towels are so soft and if you go after college starts there are some great sales on the large towels. So the California Roots Moscato is sweet and is the perfect wine to drink with dessert. It has a peach and melon flavor. I love to drink this wine while watching Netflix. This wine has also be featured as an in-depth wine review earlier this year. You can read that wine review here.
December 8 – Alamos Malbec
This wine can also be bought at Target. This red wine is from Argentina and is great to serve with beef. It has a flavor that could be described as plum or black cherry with cocoa.
December 9 – Apothic Red Blend
This is a sweeter red wine that you can find at Walmart, Target, and the grocery store. This wine pairs well with pasta and has hints of black fruit flavors (like cherry and blackberry).
December 10 – Moiselle Moscato Spumante
This is a sparkling wine. Normally, there is no real reason to celebrate a Monday, but not today! This sparkling wine is perfect to lift up your spirits! It has a tropical flavor that would pair well with your Monday salad.
Hope you enjoyed Part 2 of our wine advent calendar!

I have a confession to make. Today was a day I had been looking forward to for a couple months. I had it marked on my calendar and everything. Today was suppose to be the day that I would buy my Advent calendar. As you may have heard, this year Aldi was going to sell a wine advent calendar in the United States. This calendar was available last year in Europe, and they finally had brought it across the Atlantic Ocean.
Like I said earlier, I had this day marked on my calendar since I read that they were going to be released a couple of months ago. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for CraftEaze! There was going to be 24 different wines to try! I had it all planned out, every day I would post the wine on Instagram and Facebook and then once a week I would write a post talking about the different wines. It was going to be PERFECT!
Little did I know, everyone else had the exact same idea as me. Everyone wanted a wine advent calendar. Even the special cheese wine advent calendar was super popular. My friend texted me and said there was a line at Aldi when the store opened just to get a calendar. Unforuntualy, each store only had a limited supply. I couldn’t get away from work to go to Aldi because I was filling in for someone else. I thought, maybe if I go straight there after work I will be ok.
So at 3 pm, I went straight to this Aldi store that never looks busy every time I drive by. I got out of my car and walked to the door. As I approached, I noticed a sign on the door. This sign said, “Sorry, due to the limited supply we are sold out of the wine calendar.” So I got back in my car and rushed to the Aldi closest to my house, but I didn’t have high hopes. When I got to that Aldi, I saw a sign stating they were out of both the wine Advent calendar and the cheese Advent calendar. I went on into the store because I didn’t want to be that crazy person that got to the door twice and turned around.
I texted my fiancee when I got into Aldi and told him all about the saga in trying to find the calendar. He immediately looked online and found several calendars being sold on eBay, but they were over $150. I don’t know about you, but that’s way too expensive for me!
So I was feeling a little defeated that I wasn’t able to pick up the Aldi wine Advent calendar. I was thinking that I would just have to buy either a chocolate Advent calendar or even this coloring book Advent calendar this year. But my fiancee came to the rescue! He told me that many other people were probably at work when Aldi opened that would have wanted a calendar. Why don’t you just come up with your own “Wine Advent Calendar”? I thought this was a brilliant idea and decided to run with it.
The CraftEaze wine Advent Calendar will be released in 4 parts. Part 1 will be tonight with 3 wines. Parts 2-4 will be released over the next four weeks and will consist of 7 wines. Most of these wines can be bought at Aldi. Even though, I didn’t get a calendar I feel Aldi is a great place to find deals when it comes to wine.
Wines for the first 3 days (December 1-3)
Just in case you are not familiar with Advent calendars, you get a surprise each day during the month of December. I remember having one when I was growing up where each day was a part of a puzzle. This advent calendar will be a different wine suggestion every day.
December 1 – Winking Owl Moscato
This is one of my favorite wines! Back in June, we had an in-depth wine review on this very wine. This is a Moscato wine that I will buy for craft night. I love the slight peach taste. You can find this wine at Aldi.
December 2 – Moiselle Red Moscato
This wine is a sweeter red wine. It tastes like a Moscato but has more of a berry flavor. This is wine can be found at Aldi. In the future, this may be a wine featured in an in-depth wine review.
December 3 – Dark Horse Rose
So this is a wine that my fiancee thought I was crazy to buy. It comes in a can kind of like a soda or beer. It was also slightly more expensive then other wines I have bought at Aldi, but it was so convenient for a tailgate or even going on a float trip. I am not 100% sure if this is always at Aldi, but I found it there a few weeks ago. This rose is a little drier, but I liked it and I preferred wines that are a little sweeter.
Below are a few of our in-depth wine review, just in case you would like to learn more. I have also included a link to our special cherry limeade wine cocktail.

So this month’s wine review once again features a Riesling. Like I said last month, I really enjoy Rieslings. This month’s wine suggestion with the CraftEaze crochet subscription box was Von Wilhelm Haus Riesling Spätlese.
So I have been eying this bottle for several months now at the grocery store. I was initially drawn by to the bright blue bottle, but the fact it was a Riesling made me want to try this wine. I finally broke down and bought a bottle while my boyfriend was out of town on vacation for a wine and craft Friday night. And I have got to say, I was not disappointed.
The Von Wilhelm Haus winery is in Mosel, Germany. So it is a German Reisling. This wine is a sweeter Riesling, which makes it well suited for dinner and as a sipping wine while relaxing on the couch. When I sip this wine, I taste a slight apple flavor. This wine would be delicious with a Cajun blackened chicken or shrimp dinner. The other thing I love about this wine is that it’s very reasonably priced. I bottle the bottle for less the $10 at my local ACME.
This wine bottle will also be great for crafts. Due to the color, you could insert a string of fairy string lights inside (such as these). Below is a picture of a wine bottle that I inserted the fairy string lights into. This would be beautiful on a fireplace mantle or on a gift table at a wedding. This is also a super easy gift to make for a friend, family member, or coworker.

I am a huge fan of Riesling wine. Riesling wines are made from a Riesling grape. The Riesling grape is originally from Germany but has since been planted in many other places including Washington, Michigan, and Ontario.
These wine can be paired with many different types of foods. I love to drink a glass of Riesling when eating Pad Thai add a local Thai restaurant that my boyfriend and I love to go to. I also like to order a glass of Riesling with my parmesan coated chicken breast dinner at ASM meetings (a professional organization that I am a member of).
So I was introduced to this particular Riesling when I was at home for Christmas a few years back. My dad knows that my mom and I both enjoy Rieslings, and so he is always on the lookout for new Rieslings to try. He found Chateau Ste Michelle Riesling at their local Walmart. The three of us (my sister was at her husband’s family Christmas) tried the wine and all like it. It is in the “Family Wine Book” as highly rated. My mom (who prefers sweeter wines) even enjoyed this wine.
I like to drink this wine with dinner. I had a glass tonight with my steak and shrimp dinner. This is a “medium” wine that has peach and pear notes. A medium wine is between a dry wine and a sweet wine. The winemaker states that this is an “everyday wine”. The reason for calling it an “everyday wine” is that it can easily be pair with many types of food. This is one of my go-to wines when at a restaurant. I have ordered it a variety of different restaurants including a Thai restaurant and a restaurant that served modern American cuisine.
I have been able to find this wine in a variety of places. I have bought this wine at my local grocery store. I have also bought this wine at Walmart. I have even seen a bottle at the gas station. You can find this wine by using this website: www.ste-michelle.com/find-our-wine. Be sure to select “Columbia Valley Riesling” in the wine option. One of my favorite things about this wine is that it is a delicious and versatile wine that is fairly inexpensive. Most places have this wine for less than $10. If you want to order this wine, you can order a bottle at Wine.com.
I’m definitely looking forward to this weekend. First, it has been beautiful outside this week, and this weekend is also suppose to be beautiful. Secondly, I’m actually off work all weekend long! I have worked the last couple of weekends, so I’m pretty excited for the chance to sleep in a little. Finally, it’s Memorial Day weekend! Memorial Day weekend is the best because it’s a 3 day weekend and also the unofficial start of summer. It is finally time to spend time on the deck or by the pool with a nice cold drink and a good book.
One of my favorite summertime drinks is the cherry limeade. When I was high school my mom figured out how to make a Sonic cherry limeade lookalike, and we would make them in the afternoon after working in the yard. The other day when I was on Pinterest, I saw some wine slushie recipes and thought it would be cool to try to make a cherry limeade wine slushie. I looked and couldn’t really find a recipe for one, so I came up with this recipe. I used the Barefoot Moscato when I made this recipe because it was like $6. You can use any Moscato wine for this recipe. This recipe is easy to make and the result is pretty tasty.
Ingredients
1 bottle of Moscato (I used Barefoot Moscato)
1 can of frozen limeade
A little cherry grenadine
Pour the can of frozen limeade into the blender along with the bottle
of Moscato. If you would like a drink that is closer to a slushie, then you can add ice to the blender.
Blend the frozen limeade and the wine using the slushie button.
After the frozen limeade and the wine are blended together, pour a little of the cherry grenadine in the blender.
Blend the drink for a 2 or 3 short pulses.
Pour the drink into your glass of choice and enjoy!
Here at CraftEaze, we love crafts, Netflix, and wine. So each month our projects contain a wine and Netflix suggestion. Winking Owl Moscato was the May crochet pattern suggestion. You can find Winking Owl Moscato at Aldi. I love shopping at Aldi because they have some unique products and also have some good deals on essential food items like eggs. I remember growing up my mom would buy the pizza kits from Aldi and my sister and I would get to make our very own pizza.
The Winking Owl Moscato is a sweet white wine. The wine has a slight peach flavor. It pairs well with spicy food, cheeses, desserts, or a quiet evening watching Netflix. This is one of my favorite wines. This is my go-to wine to drink while binge watching Netflix and working on a craft project. Recently, I had a glass of this wine while working on a baby blanket for a friend.
