One yarn that I like to use to make fast projects is Red Heart Unforgettable Yarn. This yarn has a weight of Medium (4). But in my opinion, it is a little finer than a medium yarn. It is an acrylic yarn, but instead of being itchy, it is very soft. The manufacturer suggests using a US – 8 (5 mm) knitting needles or a US – J/10 (6 mm) crochet hook.
One of my favorite features of this yarn is the many different color combos. According to the Yarninspiration website, there are almost 20 different combos of Unforgettable yarn. My personal favorite combos are Dragonfly, Parrot, and Red Sea.
This yarn is also fairly soft which makes it perfect for hats, scarves, and gloves. Each color is in a fairly large block. These large blocks give a striped design to your project. The color changes are gradual, so you will not have the dramatic changes in colors in the middle of a row.
One thing that I dislike about this yarn is at times it gets very thin and other times it can get frayed easily. Both of these scenarios can cause the yarn to break. It can also make your stitch look slightly weird as it gets puffier in some spots. When it is thin, it can easily be knotted. These knots are difficult to remove.
Even though there are issues with the yarn being thin in spots and can fray easily in other spots, I still like to work with this yarn. The colors are beautiful and I love the gradual color changes. It is the perfect yarn to make a gift for a friend or family member because of the beautiful colors and how soft the yarn is.
