I really like to try new yarns I stumble upon. Earlier this spring I stumbled upon the Bernat Blanket Color Pooling yarn. Of course, I had to try it. I ended up getting 4 balls of the yarn in the buffalo plaid color. Once I got home, I found a pattern to make a blanket and I was ready to go (after I finished a couple of Mahomes Hats<\/a>, of course)!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I used the Bernat Blanket Color Pooling blanket pattern from Joann Fabrics for my blanket. You can find that pattern here<\/a>. The pattern was a little confusing at first, but eventually, I got the hang of it. Each color block is 15 stitches. It has to be 15 stitches otherwise the plaid will not appear. The other helpful hint I found was actually in the comments of the pattern. the first stitch and last stitch in a row is the same color. If you add the number of stitches from the first part of the row with the number on the last part of the row, it should add to 14. So if you stitch 6 red stitches at the first part of the row, you will need 8 red stitches at the end of the row.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I love Bernat Blanket yarn. It is so soft and easy to work with! And the Bernat Blanket Color Pooling yarn is no exception. It was soft and worked up so quickly. The colors are very vibrant and it looks great sitting on the couch. It is also a fairly bulky yarn, so it works up super fast. It also easy to make a plaid blanket without having a million ends to tie off at the end. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were some issues that I had with the yarn. The length of the black and red sections was slightly different. This made it difficult to get 15 stitches every time. I found I had to use a looser stitch when on the black section and a very tight stitch when I was on the red section. I also appeared to have two different dye lots. The red between ball to ball was slightly different. It is not easily noticeable, but if you look hard enough you can see the difference. I also didn’t like that I had to really count every color section. This made it more difficult if you are with someone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\"JOANN<\/a>\n\n\n\n

Overall, I think I would use the Bernat Blanket Color Pooling Yarn again to make another blanket. The finished product is amazing, even though I was frustrated at times while making this blanket.
