In the coming weeks, we will be coming home from work in the dark and wanting to find ways to keep warm. My favorite way to keep warm in the winter is working on a new blanket. This is a list of my 9 favorite blanket crochet patterns. These patterns contain both throw blankets and baby blankets.

5 1/2 Hour Throw

My 5 1/2 hour throw blanket that I made several years ago.

This pattern was one of my favorite blanket patterns I have ever made. It went so fast, as the name of the pattern implies. I used Lion Brand Homespun yarn for this project and a Boye Q-19 (15.75 mm) plastic crochet hook. I liked using the homespun yarn for this project because it made the blanket pretty warm. I also loved using this Boye Q-19 hook for this project because the plastic was very smooth and did not catch on the yarn causing snags.

Circular Ripple Blanket

The circular ripple blanket that I made a few years ago.

This circular ripple blanket was fun to make. I used it as a chance to clean out my leftover yarn stock, but it could be cute to make with a specific color scheme. One thing I like about this pattern is you can make it as big as you want. It can be a baby blanket or a throw blanket for the couch.

Solar System C2C Blanket

This is the outer space blanket I made using this pattern.

This is one of my favorite blanket patterns. I had so much fun making this blanket last year. It has several blocks that were crochet using the corner to corner method. I love how colorful this blanket is and the size. It is a fairly large blanket and could fit on a twin bed (like for your little space enthusiast).

6 Day Kid Blanket

This is my “6 Days” blanket. It took a few more than 6 days.

This blanket pattern was super fun. I used Bernat Pop! yarn and Sweet Roll yarn for my blanket in a variety of colors. Both of these yarns are a cake-type yarn with large sections of each color. What I like about these two yarns is the fact it makes stripes as you go along. It looks awesome this blanket that uses elements of a granny square and chevron patterns. You can use this pattern to make a kids blanket in approximately 6 days or it can be used to make a bigger blanket. I chose to make a larger blanket, so it took me slightly longer than 6 days.

Loopy Love Blanket

A baby blanket I made using this pattern for my mom for a baby shower.

This is another pattern that has instructions for a baby blanket and larger sizes all the way up to a king-size bed. It uses 3 different colors so you do not have to cut the yarn at the end of each row.

Easy Peasie Blanket

This is a picture from when I worked on this blanket during the winter of 2018. I loved working on this blanket because it was very repetitive. It also uses my favorite yarn Bernat Blanket yarn. This yarn is so soft and easy to work with. This pattern and yarn are perfect to make a blanket in the coldest part of winter because you will get nice and toasty while crocheting it.

Granny Square Blanket

CraftEaze’s Granny Square Blanket

This blanket was a project for the CraftEaze monthly crochet subscription box. You can buy CraftEaze special project box here. I love how triple front post stitches make ridges on the blanket. These ridges make the blanket look like it was much more complicated then it was.

I hope you enjoyed reading my list of favorite blanket patterns that are perfect for this winter.

What is your favorite blanket pattern?

Last night clocks fell backward as Daylights Saving Time came to an end.
