Hiking new trails, exploring beautiful landscapes, and experiencing nature together has become one of our favorite traditions. Some of our favorite parks we\u2019ve visited include Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Dry Tortugas National Park, and Rocky Mountain National Park. Each park has its own unique beauty, from geysers and mountains to crystal-clear water and wildlife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because these trips mean so much to us, we wanted to incorporate our love of the outdoors into our daughter\u2019s nursery. When I was pregnant with her, we decided to create a <strong>forest and mountain-themed nursery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I searched everywhere for a <strong>crochet national parks blanket pattern<\/strong> that would fit the theme of her room, but I couldn\u2019t find one that matched what I had in mind. So I decided to design one myself.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Designing a National Parks Crochet Blanket.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This blanket is made using <strong>12 corner-to-corner (C2C) crochet blocks<\/strong>, with each block representing a different U.S. national park. Once assembled, the blocks create a blanket that celebrates some of the most beautiful landscapes in the United States. When combined, they create a <strong>cozy national parks crochet blanket<\/strong> that celebrates adventure, nature, and family memories. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make the pattern easier to follow, each national park block will have its own blog post with step-by-step instructions and the color chart. This way you can focus on one square at a time without feeling overwhelmed. As you complete each block, you\u2019ll slowly build your own national parks crochet blanket. The cool thing with the Heartland yarn is that the colors are all named after National Parks, which makes it very appropriate for this blanket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Yarn\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4sjoOnM\">2\u00bd skeins dark blue (for the sky)<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3NhnfYb\">1 skein light blue yarn<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/472oAsB\">2 skeins dark green yarn<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4sLYRN9\">1 skein black<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4lyomzk\">1 skein dark brown<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4rqUcPH\">1 skein reddish brown (medium brown)<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3N7Ys8V\">1 skein light brown<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4s5HGq2\">1 skein red<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4bcOhcr\">1 skein gray<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/40zR4WV\">1 skein white<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Small amount of gold and burgandy yarn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4rBPizJ\">G\/6 &#8211; 4.25 mm crochet hook<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Corner To Corner Instructions:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Start: Make a slip knot and chain six.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>First Block: Double crochet (DC) into the 4th chain from your hook and the next two chains.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turn &amp; Repeat (Increase Rows): Chain six and turn your work. Slip stitch (SL ST) into the top of the first block (the chain-three space), chain three, and make three DCs into that same chain-three space.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continue increasing until your blanket reaches the desired width.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Start Decreasing: To decrease, make three slip stitches across the top of the last block from the previous row.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Decrease Row: Chain three, and make three DCs into the first chain-three space.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continue the row: by making a slip stitch into each subsequent chain-three space, creating a new block.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Repeat: the decreasing process until you are left with only two blocks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finish: Cut and weave in the yarn.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>So the first national park will be Acadia!
