So I am at the point of my life where it seems like everyone I know is having a baby. This is a great thing because my favorite thing to make is baby blankets! Baby blankets have always been one of my favorite projects. I love how they typically have a pattern that repeats, but they are also fairly quick projects because they aren’t as big as an afghan or throw. I also love that I can typically use a lot of bright and fun colors!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another thing that is nice about baby blankets, they are the perfect project to keep your hands and brain busy while watching tv during the two-week wait, IFYKYK. So this is a roundup of some of my favorite baby blankets. I also have included pictures of the blankets I have made in the past using these patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Easy Crochet Baby Blanket with Ripples<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is a baby blanket I made for one of my friends whose husband is a huge Ohio State Fan.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This is actually one of my favorite patterns for a baby blanket right now. I am currently working on a second blanket using this pattern. I also think this is maybe my husband’s favorite baby blanket pattern that I make. 6 Day Kid Blanket<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

3 Blankets that I have made using this pattern. I love the details in this pattern.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I have made several baby blankets using the 6-Day kid blanket pattern. This pattern is really cool because it combines the double crochet ripple with the granny stripe. This pattern works great with yarns like the Lion Brand Mandala Obrem Yarn<\/a> where there are gradual color changes as you go along. I have also made this pattern where I change colors after a specific amount of rows. Solar System Blanket<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This solar system blanket was a lot of fun to make (even if there was no pattern for Pluto). I was surprised with the amount of details that went into this blanket, without being difficult. I really love that the shape of the blanket is a star. You can find the pattern here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Granny Stripe Baby Blanket<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Early in 2020, before the pandemic, I bought several skeins of Pipsqueak yarn because I was wandering around Joann’s and thought the yarn was pretty. Fast-forward a few months, and I was furloughed and bored so I decided to make a baby blanket with this yarn. The granny stripe baby blanket was the perfect blanket to make with this yarn. You can find a free version of the pattern here<\/a> or you can buy a printer-friendly version on Etsy.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dinosaur Baby Blanket<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

So this is a recent pattern I bought on Etsy from OwlBHook<\/a> because I saw it on Pinterest and fell in love with it. This blanket has a stegosaurus, brachiosaurus, and a T-Rex. I used Lion Brand Mandala Ombre yarn for this project. The pattern was very easy to follow and repeats three times. You can find the pattern on Etsy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fast Baby Blanket<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you are looking for a baby blanket that is quick to make, this is the pattern<\/a> for you! I have seen it claimed on Pinterest that you can make this blanket in 4 hours, but it took me a little longer than 4 hours to make. However, it is a good project for a last-minute baby shower. This pattern uses Bernat Baby Blanket yarn, and for this particular project, I used the sparkle version of the yarn. You can find the project here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shell Stitch Baby Blanket<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

So I used the pattern a few years ago to consume some baby yarn I had leftover from another project. It worked up super fast and it looks really cool. Call the Midwife Baby Blanket<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

So this is a pattern that I had been seeing a lot of people post on Facebook, and in the spring of 2021, I decided to make my own blanket using this pattern. I love the vintage feel this blanket has and the pattern was easy to follow. I also love that it repeats, so it makes it an easy project to do while in the car or watching tv.
